About US

International consumer advocacy group AUSBANC has fought to protect consumer rights and interests since 1986; since then it has won many legal and judicial battles, including multi-million tort cases on behalf of retail investors and consumers.

Some of its key achievements include the elimination of inflationary rounding-up price practices; convictions against language academies and multi-property or holiday package businesses; its fight against misleading advertising; the defence of free- market competition; its representation of thousands of consumers affected by a massive stamp scam and against the closure of Air Madrid; the creation of a sole Life Insurance Register and its fight for consumers to access mortgage rehabilitation schemes; to name but a few.

Eager to encourage an empowered consumer culture, AUSBANC embarked on an intense campaign to inform and educate its 105 users which, amongst other things, included the launch of publications tailored towards law and economics. Following years of intense activity, these publications surpassed all expectations in terms of dedication and content and have gone well-beyond the boundaries of a consumer association. Which, in fact, has now has been consolidated to form an independent publishing house, AUSBANC, offering a wide-range of publications and information to all its readers.

Our inquisitive, innovative and dynamic nature, coupled with the success of our achievements and clarity of vision, ensures that our achievements can be of great help to other countries around the world – thus AUSBANC can now boast a solid international presence.
